New article on ColdFusion debugging
Tuesday, May 18, 2004 5:20:38 PM
An article of mine went live today at Community MX about ColdFusion debugging. Basically, ColdFusion debugging is a major pain in the butt, so any information that can aid in debugging a CF app is welcome. The article deals with a technique I use to turn debugging on and off via the URL with a password. I set up my own debugging page in OnRequestEnd.cfm that appears at the bottom of each CF page in the site. It is more useful than the debugging info from the CF admin, because it shows full structures, whereas the CF debugging only shows simple variables. Also, CF debugging has the habit of being shown behind a page that is built using CSS positioning. The article also has a JavaScript to force the debugging info to the bottom of the page. http://www.communitymx.com/content/article.cfm?cid=ED0D6
