Using the DWTeam Go To Line Number Extension

The DWTeam Go To Line Number extension adds functionality to Dreamweaver's Code View to allow you to instantly jump to the line number of your choice. Here is a quick tutorial on using it.

First, the extension must be downloaded and installed into your copy of Dreamweaver MX either by double clicking on the downloaded file or from the File menu of the Extension Manager. Learn how to use the Extension Manager here.

Once installed, restart Dreamweaver to instantiate the extension.

Open any page that has several lines of code (HTML or otherwise) on it.

Switch to code view by selecting the Code View option in the Dreamweaver toolbar.

In Code View, right click and select Go To Line Number from the pop-up menu.

Enter the line number you wish to jump to and click OK.

The extension also installs a Go To Line: text box onto your main Dreamweaver toolbar that you may use.

Your cursor will jump to the requested line number. Simple, really, but very useful when troubleshooting and debugging large pages of code.
